Recent research has delved into the manifestations of dark personality traits, specifically the Dark Triad—Machiavellianism, narcissism, and subclinical psychopathy—in workplace settings. This study aims to compare sociodemographic variables between two distinct cultural backgrounds: Spain and Chile.
The Dark Triad traits are often associated with manipulative and self-serving behaviors, raising concerns about their impact on organizational dynamics. By examining the prevalence and expression of these traits across different demographics, the study seeks to understand how cultural contexts influence workplace interactions and employee relationships.
Preliminary findings indicate significant variations in the expression of these traits based on factors such as gender, age, and educational background. For instance, the study highlights that men may exhibit higher levels of Machiavellianism compared to women in both countries, while narcissistic tendencies appear more pronounced among younger employees.
This research contributes to the growing body of literature on workplace psychology, emphasizing the need for organizations to recognize and address the implications of dark personality traits to foster healthier work environments.
