Clemson Department of Psychology honors outstanding alumni for career achievements

The Clemson University Department of Psychology has honored two of its graduates with prestigious awards, celebrating their significant professional accomplishments and positive impact in their fields.

Dr. Jessica Green, a clinical psychologist specializing in adolescent mental health, received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Career Achievement. Since earning her doctorate, Dr. Green has established a renowned practice and developed innovative therapeutic programs that have been adopted by school districts across the state. Her research on anxiety interventions has been widely published, making substantial contributions to the field.

The department also presented the Early Career Award to Mr. David Chen, a human factors expert working in the technology sector. His work exemplifies the applied value of a psychology degree in the fast-paced tech industry.

Department Chair Dr. Elaine Roberts emphasized that these awards highlight the diverse and powerful career paths available to psychology graduates. "We are immensely proud of Jessica and David," she stated. "Their work embodies our department's commitment to applying psychological science to solve real-world problems and improve lives. They serve as tremendous inspirations for our current students." The honors were conferred during a special ceremony attended by faculty, students, and fellow alumni.
